Cigar of the Week

My cigar of the week is the Romeo y Julieta 'Churchill'.

I had been given three of these by a generous fellow aficienado by the name of Don Silver with whom I dined with whilst in Los Angeles recently.  These cigars had been purchased by Don and his wife Karla whilst they had been residing earlier this year in the South of France, they are the true Havana deal (no fraudulent ring bands on these)!  Thank you Don for your kind generosity.

Winston Churchill had become a devotee of Romeo y Julieta during his visit to Havana in 1946, and his name has since been used to describe this, the brands most famous size of cigar. This cigar is not intended for the novice smoker, whom might not enjoy the strong but smooth taste, and further, it is recomended that the 'Churchill' be allowed to age for a minimum of at least three years before smoking.

It is an awesome gift to have received, I have only had the pleasure of smoking just one of the three cigars to date (I am going to be sharing the experience of the other two with a deserving friend of mine in January when I travel to Australia) it was rich, creamy and a little spicy, the ash held tight and burned a mid grey.  This cigar is a real Titan, a good smoke for a good hour!
